In that case, we will provide you with the exact details to enter in that field. You must always click the "Sign Application" button yourself — no third party may do this on your behalf.
Yes, under certain conditions. According to the U.S. Department of State, a third party may assist an applicant in completing the DS-160 — for example, if the applicant is illiterate or unable to complete the form on their own. However, the following rules always apply:
• The third party must be identified by name on the "Sign and Submit" page of the application.
• The applicant must always sign the application themselves by clicking the "Sign Application" button — this cannot be delegated, except for applicants under age 16 or those physically incapable, in which case a parent or legal guardian may sign on their behalf.
• All answers on the DS-160 remain the legal responsibility of the applicant.
